I decided to try to transpose to a system of the English I was most comfortable with. I knew my bishop on d2 was not in a great place, but decided that it would still be a good idea since I would be comfortable with the game.

This might not have been a good time to play this move. I had a hard time thinking of my next few moves because my pieces did not have many squares, and I had to make sure black did not completely run me over. [12.Qd2 Playing this with the intention of either an eventual d4 or b4 might have been better and left me with more play]

This was a poor move because I played it with no specific idea in mind besides not wasting all my time. Instead I could have tried 14. Bf2 and possibly saved tempo. [14.Bxd4 exd4 Black's weaknesses are hard to attack, and white is left with a lot of pieces that don't have a lot of space. Still, playing this right away probably wouldn't have changed much]

[White is better. ed] To summarize what happened in the end, I was low on time and missed that he had checkmate in one more. 0-1
